The Anamoly

The doctor stared in disbeleif. He had been so busy trying to thing of a plan to rescue the captain that he had completely forgotten about the rest of the crew aboard the ship. "Do whatever you have to do Lt. pilot." he said with sureness. " we'll get these guys yet, and maybe even get our captain back in one piece!" he sat back in the chair it felt horribble to be in it now. it felt like it was covered in icy with some wet spots. the wet spots were from him sweating profusely. he licked his lips and told the pilot, "ok lets do it" and waited intently to see what would happen and if it would work.

She looked hesitantly back at the doctor. He looked grimly determined, but also uncertain what to do next. She could sympathize. Putting people back together and commanding a starship were hardly the same thing. She wouldn't want to be in his shoes; there was too much pressure. That's why her brother had decided to stick to flying their small cargo ship rather than joining her in Starfleet. He had told her she was crazy to want to be an officer. "Why would you want all that responsibility?" he had teased. "There are too many people to take into account, the whole Federation, in fact. I'll take being one man in control of his own destiny any day." Remembering, an ironic grin spread across her face. Suddenly, she started. The memory had given her an idea. "Computer, end transmission." The Vorta disappeared from the screen. "Sir, I have a plan." The doctor was clearly surprised, but he looked at her expectantly, so she continued, "Their shield generator is located in their stern. They know that, so they will always position themselves so we can't get a good shot. But if we engaged them briefly, then retreated--maybe even toward Dominion space, that would be more threatening--they would pursue us. Then if we suddenly dropped speed and pulled up, we'd have a shot at their shields." She paused and took a deep breath to steady her nerves. Her sudden boldness was now deserting her. He must think she's crazy, to suggest such a dangerous stunt. "I can do it, sir," she began again, more cautiously this time. "My brother and I used to use this trick to evade raiders. Except then we were aiming for their weapons. But if their shields were down we could beam out the captain and then make a quick getaway." Now she took another deep breath and held it, waiting for his answer.

The viewscreen switched on. "Ah, Dr. I have to tell you that this attempt to rescue your captain is completely foolhardy." He fired again and the Intrepid shook. "Please for the sake of you and your pilot, back down"

The computer fell silent for a second. "Sensors detect one humanoid lifesign onboard the Dominion ship. THe ship is powering weapons" The ship fired on the Intrepid but the shields were self activated. "Fire back?"

"alright well lets get this bucket of blots moving!, and hopefully find our captain!"

The computer beeped and whistled. "Authorization code accepted. The U.S.S. Intrepid is now under the command of Dr Crank until A command level officer replaces him"

"oh and computer: 474 110 0mega!"

"well" said the doc. "follow those ships every body whos not dead!" the doc newly christened commander for now shouted to the remaining crew

A sudden blast shook the ship and several consoles exploded. Commander Jose, COmmander Hicks and Ensign opz were killed. The computer chimed in. "Neccessary code transfer. All command codes transferred to drcrank. Please acknowledge"

The doctor ran onto the bridge. he then realised that he was the highest ranking officer aboard. "Well if the ships ready to go we better follow those jem'hadars and get back our captain!" he slowly sat in the cap'ns chair not knowing if he was really allowed to and said " follow those ships!" to the few crew members aboard

Entering the bridge, she turned immediately to the repair crews, "Ensign Johnson needs help getting things up and running in engineering. Send anyone you can spare." A couple crewman nodded and grabbed their kits. With a nod at the commander, she took her seat at the helm. Her fingers trembled slightly as she moved them over the keys, making the necessary calculations. This was the moment she had waited for; however, she'd have to wait till later to appreciate it. There was still much to do. Taking a deep breath, she turned to the commander, "Course laid in, ma'am, in pursuit of the Dominion ship."

Turning to face the expectant crew she said, "Your right. We have to go get the captain. He has done so much for us and we can't let him down now." She tapped her combadge. "Jose to engineering. Status report Lieutenant"

"I agree that we need to get our shit together if we're going to rescue the captain," Sabrina said as she looked around at the rest of the bridge officers. "Do you remember all that our captain has done for us?" she asked. "We can't let him down now."

the doctor looked impatiently around the bridge. " We really need to get our shit together." he stated flatly into the silent space around him.

She smiled as the lights came on, flickering at first, but the becoming steady. Despite the chaos, she was excited to be sitting at the helm for the first time. However, the moment she was really waiting for would have to wait. After pushing a few buttons, she discovered that warp was still down. She glanced behind her; the commander was working with some crew members at the other end of the bridge. They were clearly busy. While she still felt unsure of herself on this new ship, she knew that there was still much to do. "Time to take the initiative," she mused to herself. Passing the doctor on her way out, she nodded, "I'm going to see if they need help in engineering."

"sick bay is all fixed up and ready to go" the doc said as he approached the room, ready for whatever would happen next

I'm used to roleplaying through muds, meaning one line at a time and having each line contain my character name or short description some where in there. Hope this isn't a problem)
Shaking his head in dismay, the lean ashen man pushes an alien corpse aside with his foot.
"Any of these bastards live?" Hicks then says, smiling despite himself as he admires the phaser wound on another corpses throat before sliding it with the others.

The crewman looked at the conn officer and smiled. "Of course Ma'am, just make sure I get it back. The Commander wants the security console functional again eventually" then wandered off grumbing to a different are of the bridge.

"Aye Aye," she nodded and turned to the console. Running her hand over it, she shuddered at the damage. The electrical surge from the overload had fused many of the wires. She would have to remove several of the coils, and at least one of the power converters. She glanced at the harried crewman beside her, "Hey, can I use your hypospanner?"

She looked at the new crewmember and smiled. "Welcome aboard lieutenant, I assume your the new conn officer. Right now we need to repair the ship and rescue the captain" She reached down for a padd and handed it to her. "Repair the conn console and then report back here"

She walks on the bridge, wishing she hadn't arrived on the ship in a moment of chaos. It would have been nice to know who was who before she was thrown into the thick of things. Spotting the commander, she decides she better get moving. "Reporting for duty," she mutters awkwardly. "Sorry I'm late. What can I do to help?"

she observed the damage on the bridge, several consoles heavily damaged by phaser fire and the injured crew memebers. sighing she told the crew to send out repair teams, primary systems first. "Lt. Rinabarger when you get finished with the remaining "guests" have security escort them to the brig, then make warp drive your top priority, take whatever crew you need, they have enough of a head start. Doctor get down to sickbay, take care of the crew, ensign go with him, i have the feeling he'll need the help. i'll stay here and work on repairs. if i here from any of you it better be with good news dismissed."

well first we'd had better get rid of all those soldiers around the ship" he looked down to make sure his phaser wa still close by.

Tearing through a few of the remaining soldiers with her phaser, she ran again to her console. The glowing screen showed that the enemy ships were already engaged in a high warp drive away from the Intrepid. Basic scans of the ship indicated that they would not be able to pursue, the engines having been damaged. She glanced around the bridge, making her way over to the Lieutenant and Doctor while keeping her phaser ready in case of enemy stragglers.
"So the captain's gone and the engines are fried. What do you recommend we do?"

"oh shit" the doc mumbled to himself. "well we had better take care of the rest of thos soldiers"
